Transportation Improvements Grow Wisconsin's Economy: The Economic Benefits of Transportation Investments

For the Transportation Development Association of Wisconsin, EDR Group assisted Cambridge Systematics in its study of the benefits of transportation investment in Wisconsin. The study included both quantitative and qualitative research on how transportation investment affects business efficiency, job creation, economic business growth, tax revenues, safety, and quality of life.

EDR Group's role was to complete the work element dealing with aviation investment in Wisconsin. Our analysis found that Wisconsin's airports, the Wisconsin aviation industry, and visitors who depend on air travel as their means of entering the state generate over $2.1 billion in Wisconsin economic activity. This supports over 41,000 jobs in the state, with a payroll of over $770 million for state residents.
