Ohio TRAC Transportation Prioritization

The Ohio Department of Transportation engaged EDR Group when seeking more transparently integrate business and economic considerations into their project selection process. The state had well established engineering factors for assigning "points" to projects based on safety, mobility and other areas, yet there was a strong need to establish buy-in to a way of recognizing projects that would support economic development. EDR Group pro-actively engaged the business and economic development community in all regions of Ohio, leading to a project scoring system which explicitly not only quantified each project's potential contribution to Ohio's economy, but also identified those projects most likely to complement regional and local economic development strategies already in place.
