By SH&E and Economic Development Research Group, for the Massachusetts Aeronautics Commission, 2000 The Massachusetts Aeronautics Commission commissioned and directed a study of the economic impact of public use airports in the state. The study provided a comprehensive analysis of economic impacts associated with each airport in the state, and all airports combined (excluding the Boston area's Logan Airport and Hanscom Field, which are under the jurisdiction of Massport). The study was conducted by a technical team consisting of Simat, Helliesen & Eichner, Inc. (SH&E) and Economic Development Research Group, Inc., with support from The Karol Group, Inc., Schlesinger & Associates and students of the Bridgewater State College Department of Aviation. The report is organized into the following sections: 1. Definition of Economic Impact 2. Study Goals and Approach 3. Economic Impacts Methodology – Fieldwork and Survey 4. Results of the Economic Impact Analysis (Statewide Airport System Impacts) 5. Individual Airport Profiles (Local Impacts of Each Airport) 6. Taxes and Fees Affecting Massachusetts Aviation 7.
