For the Dallas-Fort Worth International Airport, under subcontract with ICF SH&E, EDR Group calculated the economic impacts of international air services at the airport.
The overall objectives of the economic impact analysis of international services at DFW were to: (1) quantify the economic contribution of DFW’s existing international passenger and all cargo air services on the regional economy; and (2) estimate the economic impacts of potential new international passenger and cargo services at DFW by world region and aircraft type. The overall economic impact analysis relied on secondary data sources provided by DFW staff, including badging data, concessions reports and parking pass counts instead of lengthy survey processes.
The initial deliverable described the contributions of DFW’s international air services on regional economy in terms of economic output (business revenues), jobs, payroll and taxes. The second deliverable provided estimated economic impacts of selected new international service routes from DFW. This analysis relied on secondary data from the U.S. Bureau of Transportation Statistics and the U.S. Department of Commerce.
