High Speed Intercity Passenger Rail System High Desert Stations 2023 RAISE BCA

EBP conducted the benefit-cost analysis (BCA) to support San Bernardino County, California’s successful 2023 Rebuilding American Infrastructure with Sustainability and Equity (RAISE) grant application for the High Speed Intercity Passenger Rail System High Desert Stations 2023 RAISE BCA.

The $25 million maximum award will help fund the construction of two additional stations at Hesperia and Victor Valley, as part of the Los Angeles to Las Vegas high speed rail corridor.  The BCA focused on the significant mobility, travel time and reliability benefits to San Bernardino County residents by providing a multimodal rail alternative to driving west to Los Angeles and east to Las Vegas along highways that are among the most congested in the United States.  In addition to significant travel time benefits, the project will provide parking and other out of pocket cost savings, emissions savings, and reduced congestion by removing drivers from the highly congested road networks serving Los Angeles and Las Vegas.
