IMPLAN Consulting Services
Input-Output Impact Analysis

The Value of IMPLAN. The IMPLAN Model is the most flexible, detailed and widely used input-output impact model system in the U.S. Much more than a set of multipliers, it provides users with the ability to define industries, economic relationships and projects to be analyzed. It can be customized for any county, region or state, and used to assess the "ripple effects" or "multiplier effects" caused by increasing or decreasing spending in various parts of the economy. This is used primarily to assess the economic impacts of facilities or industries, or changes in their level of activity in a given area.

Need for IMPLAN Consulting. The IMPLAN model software is user friendly and flexible, providing users with a wide array of possible choices. However, users must select and define appropriate inputs with a sufficient understanding of both the subject area to be modeled and interpretation of applicable IMPLAN parameters. This is where EDR Group has assisted many consultants and client organizations.

The staff of EDR Group possess a strong background applying the IMPLAN model -- having applied it for over 100 cases spanning over 17 states. Lisa Petraglia, Steven Landau, Glen Weisbrod and Teresa Lynch are all experienced in applying IMPLAN and in assisting others in its use.
What We Can Accomplish: We provide three services for consultants, public agencies and private clients:

(1) Advice on framing analysis questions in the IMPLAN context, and then interpreting the results
(2) Ongoing support and training in use and interpretation of IMPLAN models
(3) Full analysis studies using the IMPLAN model, including reports on findings

From our experience we translate project or policy specific information into a meaningful set of model drivers. Our knowledge of the structural basis of the IMPLAN model, together with our hands-on consulting experience in real-world applications issues and topics, ensures a robust and appropriate analysis that stands up to scrutiny.
