Mike Sherman

Mike Sherman is EDR Group’s Principal Consultant on clean energy policy. He has more than 30 years’ experience in a broad range of energy roles in the public and private sectors, including policy and legislation, regulation, program planning and evaluation. 

Mr. Sherman served for five years as Director of Energy Efficiency Programs in the Massachusetts Department of Energy Resources, where he planned and executed energy policy and programs aimed at capturing all cost-effective energy efficiency, and reducing Greenhouse Gas emissions.  He convened and facilitated numerous working groups of public and private stakeholders, achieving consensus on broad policy issues and critical mechanisms as the state reoriented its energy and greenhouse gas policies and programs, moving MA on a path for recognition as the most energy efficient state in the US.   Earlier in his career, Mr. Sherman directed policy and planning for the MA low income Weatherization Assistance Program, building national coalitions to shape the DOE program into a truly effective vehicle for reducing the energy burden on low income people. He also spent more than 15 years planning and evaluating energy efficiency programs for Xenergy Inc, Navigant Consulting and Sherman Energy Solutions.
