Karl Seidman

Mr. Seidman is an affiliate consultant with EDR Group and Senior Lecturer in the Massachusetts Institute of Technology Department of Urban Studies and Planning. He has provided years of subject matter expertise related to economic development performance measures, impact analyses, and program evaluation.

 Mr. Seidman served as a technical advisor to EDR Group on its evaluation of the Minnesota Angel Tax Credit and has developed impact measures and methodologies for many evaluations of economic development programs and initiatives, including those offered by the Living Cities Integration Initiative, Goldman Sachs Urban Investment Group, Massachusetts Community Development Finance Corporation, Boston Main Streets Program, and federal Empowerment Zone/Enterprise Community Initiative. Mr. Seidman previously served as Deputy Director and Chief Financial Officer for MassDevelopment, a state agency that finances and manages redevelopment projects.

He is the author of Coming Home to New Orleans: Neighborhood Rebuilding After Katrina and Economic Development Finance, the only textbook of its kind.
