David Blochstein is Chief Software Architect at EDR Group. In this capacity, he leads the firm’s practice developing software tools for economic analysis. He has proven expertise developing and enhancing platforms to manage large datasets, including: tools for transportation benefit-cost, economic impact and financial analysis (TREDIS), tools for statewide airport database systems (several states), specialized economic impact tools for national associations (including APTA), and the national TPICS database for highway and transit project impact analysis (SHRP2 and TCRP). Other recent work he led includes the NAFTA Freight Database for the Brookings Institution, the vFreight commodity flow analysis database, the “TREDIS Fueled by TranSearch” system (joint tool with IHS Markit ) and the new TRED-Plan competitive analysis forecasting system.
Previously, he served as Lead Consultant for PCG (a data-driven management consulting firm in Boston that focuses on medical care services) and StreetAccount (a service providing real-time equity market intelligence for institutional investors). He holds an MS in Computer Information Systems from Boston University and a BS in Computer Science from Champlain College. He is Microsoft Certified Solution Developer in .NET (MCSD).
