Weisbrod Speaks at LEDC Leadership Summit in New Orleans
This session launched a new report from IEDC’s in-house think tank, the Economic Development Research Partners on the critical role of infrastructure in economic development. The report was summarized, and a panel of experts from across the country weighed in on the state of infrastructure, as well as its role in job creation and in communities’ ability to compete globally. Infrastructure affects economic development in a fundamental way. It touches so much of our daily lives: from traffic congestion to water quality and bridge safety- even broadband access. Economic development professionals can no longer ignore the effects of crumbling infrastructure on their economies, and this session taught participants the steps necessary to impact infrastructure development and maintenance in their communities.
Weisbrod also spoke on the same topic for an IEDC sponsored webinar, "Building Critical Infrastructure for 21st Centure Economic Development," which was held on February 17, 2016.
